Brushing your teeth. Putting on your own shoes. Not taking more than you can eat. Saying 'thank you' without anyone having to remind you. Not letting the water run while you wash your face. Putting the toys back, at least some of them.

This book is about all these very small things that, put together, become very big. About how responsibility doesn't arrive all at once — it comes in tiny decisions a child makes alone, with no one watching.

And about how, of all the things we decide each day, the most important are the ones about ourselves.
